773 BOXES!!

Look, my mom built a forklift out of boxes. 773 of them. It's a long story, but none-the-less it's pretty cool. My Big Sister went fishing with dad and found mushrooms too. I, on the other hand, did not get to do any fun stuff. No fair!!! I did get to watch El and Dad fly a kite.

FAMILY PORTRAIT

Look at what my Big Sister Ellen did: drew our family! I'm the little one on the right, under our house. Daddy is the big one in the middle on top, Mommy is on the bottom and My Big Sister Ellen is on the left. And of course our house is upper right. I LOVE this drawing. Good Job El!!

Dad's Cool

Yep, my Dad is cool. He is the employee of the month. Just with one vendor, he negotiated a $15,000 dollars savings for the company. He gets a bunch of cool stuff including a premo parking spot. All the top execs were there and he was super surprised.

Besides that, we've been trying to get outside and have some fun - but the weather only sometimes cooperates. Enjoy the pics.

What's New

Hello. There's been lots going on at our house lately. If you haven't heard, I got tubes in my ears. At first I wasn't too sure about the whole thing, but now after a few weeks of having them, I think they're all right. The best part is I shouldn't have any more ear infections and diaper rash -OUCH!! That, I DID NOT like. (fact: 8 ear infections since May; diaper rash every time I took the antibiotics)

In other health news, my Big Sister Ellen stuck a bean up her nose. She doesn't remember how it got there, but claims it has been there since "Saturday". It took Dad almost 10 minutes to extract the bean. A BEAN! Can you believe it?!?

We also got together with my Steer cousins and had lots of fun at FUN CITY. The name is true: it's a blast. There are games, food and swimming! I was really good all weekend, even at the restaurant. It was a Japanese Steak House, and there was fire - lots of fire. I laughed and laughed. El was a little concerned with it all, but I knew what was going on.

Until next time. Enjoy the pictures! (warning: first one is icky)

Mom's 40!!!

Hi. My mom celebrated her 40th birthday which was very exciting. When she got to work, her desk was decorated for the occasion. She got so much stuff and attention all day. Bagels and fruit bouquet and blooming tea/tea pot and birthday cookie and cookie bouquet, not to mention all the cards and cards and cards! It was quite a big deal. My mom wants to say thanks to everyone - you made her day super special! Some people might think 40 is old, but mom was reminded to think of it as: 4 touchdowns, 2 extra points, 4 field goals and a safety. I guess that makes it better (?) The football reference is okay, but just don't mention Superbowl "SUNDAY"; we all know how she feels about that.

Expressions in Monochrome Painting

My big sister Ellen is exploring the different styles and movements in art. Here she is developing her technique as a Monochromatic artist. The exploration of one color, the examination of values changing across a surface, the expressivity of texture and nuance, expressing a wide variety of emotions, intentions and meanings - is all captured here in this one Dora picture. Her friend, Cameryn, started coloring the hair (brown) and the flower on Dora's belt (yellow) but Ellen soon took it over - to make it her own. It is after all her coloring book. It took her almost 3 hours to complete with a red marker. (this time does include a lunch break and a bath break) Maybe someday we'll have an artist in the family.

2008 Year in Review

Okay, so this really won't be a "review" as you can just go back to previous posts and look at what's been going on. All-in-all a good year, no complaints. Since Halloween (yikes, we haven't posted in awhile) we've celebrated my birthday (Ellen's too), Thanksgiving and Christmas. A couple of good months for us Steer kids. However, mom and dad being lame, didn't take pics or something happened to them [possible culprit: BSE] so we don't have anything. No birthday fun at Happy Joe's in Burlington, no cowboy birthday fun in CB, no big turkeys, no Christmas, no nothing. Just a few videos that mom thought were funny enough to post. So, if you have pics of these events, please send them and I'll make sure they get posted. Thanks for your help.
